At some point during the last nine months I must have blinked. Somewhere along the way I looked away for a moment, just a moment, and when I turned back my family had grown. On Saturday, December 30th, 2017, we welcomed Theodore Cay Farnsworth into our ranks.
Both Heather and Felix have been enjoying the additional down time lately. Felix, however, was not thrilled about being woken up for a photo shoot.
This afternoon we’ll be off for another visit with the midwife.
After we’ve both had a chance to dry our eyes from hearing the pitter-patter of a tiny little heartbeat, it’ll be back to packing (kitchen this time I think). Before we know it we’ll be settling into our new apartment.
Something more pressing right now however. A truly dear and lovely woman by the name of Gilma has just recently had to leave the restaurant where I work for close to a years worth of chemo treatments due to stomach cancer. She has worked at Sofra Bakery for many years, and is more like family than a coworker. With the help of some of my colleagues I’ve created a Gofundme campaign to help her out while she starts the long road to recovery.
For the first time in ages, I had Sunday off. Heather dragged me to the morning church breakfast in response… Not the worst thing 😛
Afterwards, while she played a service, I walked to our soon-to-be new apartment and back. A very short walk! Took some photos along the way.
When it’s super bright out, and you’re stuck in the suburbs, it can be hard to find good subject matter. Most things green, however, are always fun.
After coming home we both went down for a nice long nap. A while later, I rose and Felix quickly took my place.
We goin in soon for her next ultra sound. Second trimester and more heartbeat monitoring! Can’t wait!
